Journal Entry "Ruby Lips" closing in on Premiere Day
On Monday the class met to watch the partially edited footage so far of the film. We critiqued and gave suggestions to our Editor Josh C. S. Lewis. He had about 11 minutes done which ended up reaching to the end of the interrogation scene between Park & Jesse. It was good so far and I look forward to seeing the end product on Friday the 26th at 1:30pm. Christina made us a poster for the premiere and it is really good as you can see below. Everyone is invited to come. It is free to the public and anyone who wants to see it can. It will be held on April 26th at 1:30pm at the Armstrong Atlantic State University Ogeechee Theater located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union. Everyone will be dressed like a star so come as if you're going to the Oscars. I hope to see you there and, as this is my final journal entry for this class, I will bid you all farewell and happy filmmaking!

"Ruby Lips" Sisters Forever Photos
Another project that I was given to do within the production of the film was to get the pictures of London & Clementine together for the Sisters Forever picture that would be located in Clementine's house when we filmed there. It took me a long time to find a date and time that both Logan & Bobbie could be there but we finally made it happen and I got some really good photos of them done. The ones below are the three we finally ended up using as the props in the house. Logan (Clementine) is the brunette and Bobbie (London) is the blonde. They looked wonderful together.
This is the photo that eventually got captioned "Sisters Forever" |
This s the "Funny Face" photo that Travis wanted me to get and it emphasizes Logan's Ruby Lips |
This is the "Dutiful" photo that Travis wanted showing them as not so close sisters. |

Journal Entry "Ruby Lips" Drowning Scene
On April 3rd we filmed the pool drowning of Clementine scene. Since this was suppose to look like a home video recording, we used the Armstrong Atlantic State University camera equipment. I was a water supervisor of sorts. I stayed in the pool while the filming was going on to make sure everything that was done was safe. We also had just one chance to capture Logan(Clementine) falling into the pool since after that she would be wet and no retakes could be filmed without a very long process of drying her hair and the rest of her. But we didn't have to worry about that because the first take of that fall was very good. One part of the scene we were unable to do because of schedule conflicts was have Bobbie Renee (London, Clementine's sister) there. Technically her character is the one video taping the drowning but since she couldn't be there we had our wonderful director video tape it. We did make a reference to London actually being there because Clementine calls out for help to her sister as Jesse is drowning her. Logan's scream for help was awesome and Oscar (Jesse) did a very good job of being evil and drowning her. Thankfully, no one really got drowned or hurt. We (including me) only got very cold after being in the pool for over an hour.

Journal Entry "Ruby Lips" Day 3 of filming
Back on Sunday March 24th we filmed the interrogation scenes between Park and Jesse. We filmed this inside the film studio in Jenkins Hall on AASU Campus. Since Christina was unable to be there, I became the Script Supervisor for that day. That involved a lot of work on my part and at first it was difficult to understand but as the day went on I got better and since I worked that whole day I get my name in the credits as Script Supervisor along with Christina. It took a while to get everything started and when we started we were in the room looking into the "interrogation room" and we had to worry a lot about reflections of the crew in the window. I got to be an extra again as the interrogation room operator but my part was only partially filmed and most likely will not end up in the film. It was still fun, though. We got all we wanted to accomplish that day done and that was a good thing.
